Description
Cast iron pots were first used throughout Japan as kettles to boil water over an open fire and were usually hung above a hearth to also provide heat and humidity in cold weather. In the mid-19th century, as infused teas such as Sencha became popular, brewing and serving the tea to friends and family also got popular.

•Care:
-For first time use, rinse pot and infuser with hot water.
-Never use cleaning products on the inside or the outside of teapot.
-While the teapot is still warm, wipe the inside and outside with a dry cloth.
-Reapeat this process at least 3 times.
-After thoroughly drying teapot with cloth, invert and allow to air dry before replacing cover and infuser.
-Avoid contact with salts and oils.
-Do not place teapot in cold water while still warm.
If the care instructions are followed, your teapo should not rust as the inner surface has been coated with black enamel. However, in the unlikely event that your teapot get rust, you teapot can still be used.
-The rust is non-toxic and safe.
-Use a soft brush to clean
